Ojai Music Festival

Prestigious festival for Classical and New music at an outdoor venue in Ojai, California.

Ojai Music Festival has featured the who's who of "classical" music for 80 years. It can be especially challenging for sound as this music is traditionally presented in concert halls that are designed to reinforce the acoustic sound of the instruments. With growing audience sizes and advanced technology, Sound Reinforcement is necessary, and audience members expect an experience that is just as good as a concert hall at an outdoor festival of this caliber... And the musicians on stage often do too... Which is why I have been the monitor engineer for this festival since 2011.

It's a challenging gig, can be unpredictable, and definitely requires some psychology when trying to interpret monitor needs from musicians that almost never need them. I enjoy the challenge.
